Safety Tips

At Naija Diaspora Hub (NDH), we're committed to helping you connect confidently with Nigerian-owned businesses across the diaspora. Our goal is to make discovery, communication, and transactions easier while keeping safety a top priority with trust and transparency being the foundation of our community.

Before you book, order, or buy, please take a moment to read these important safety guidelines.

1. Verify Before You Pay

  • Always confirm vendor details, service scope, pricing, and delivery timelines before making payments outside NDH.
  • If you're unsure about a vendor's identity or offer, use the "Message Vendor" button to ask questions and verify details.
  • NDH does not process or hold payments for vendors. All transactions happen independently between you and the vendor.

2. Use Secure and Traceable Payment Methods

For your protection, always use secure and trackable payment options such as:

  • The vendor's verified business account
  • The vendor's official e-commerce or booking website
  • Reputable digital payment platforms that provide transaction records

Avoid paying with cash, unverified transfers, or peer-to-peer apps with no buyer protection.

3. Check Reviews and Ratings

  • NDH displays reviews and ratings from real customers to help you make informed decisions.
  • Before booking, review a vendor's feedback and overall track record.
  • If you've used a vendor's service, leaving a review helps others stay safe and strengthens the community.

4. Communicate Within NDH First

  • Start every engagement inside the platform using Message Vendor.
  • Avoid sharing personal details (addresses, IDs, financial information) until you feel confident the vendor is credible and legitimate.
  • NDH messaging helps you ask questions and verify information safely before moving to external platforms.

5. Watch for Red Flags

Stay alert to signs of potential risk, such as:

  • Prices that appear "too good to be true"
  • Requests for upfront payment before proper communication
  • Vendors refusing secure or traceable payment methods
  • Links that lead to unverified websites or social media pages
  • Pressure tactics or inconsistent information

If something doesn't feel right, pause and verify.

6. Report Suspicious Vendors or Activity

If you notice unusual or concerning behavior, report it immediately via the "Report Vendor" button or email: support@naijadiasporahub.com

Our team reviews every report and takes appropriate action to keep the community safe.

7. NDH Verification & Limitations

  • NDH conducts basic verification to confirm vendor identity and ownership. However, NDH does not independently verify every service, product, or transaction.
  • NDH is not a financial intermediary and is not liable for disputes, loss, or fraud between users and vendors.
  • Always verify details before completing any transaction.

8. Respect & Professionalism

  • NDH is a community built on trust, respect, and professionalism.
  • Vendors are expected to communicate honestly and deliver as promised.
  • Users are encouraged to communicate clearly, respect boundaries, and maintain professionalism.
  • Together, we uphold the NDH standard of excellence — Commerce, Culture, and Connection.
